Freightliner Ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction!

JD Power’s 2012 U.S. Heavy-Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study led to some pretty exciting news for Freightliner Trucks!  They recently announced that Freightliner ranked highest in satisfaction with Heavy-Duty Trucks in Vocational and On-Highway Segments.

JD’s press release lays out more specifics regarding the details behind this study, but the results say it all!  Overall customer satisfaction has dropped from 751 out of 1,000 last year, to 737 this year.  Trucking companies have had to make a lot of changes to keep up with the changing times, environmental concerns and emission regulations.  A similar drop in satisfaction occured in 2007 when EPA regulations were revised, and the 2010 EPA-compliant engines produced the same disatisfaction.

Brent Gruber, director of the commercial vehicle practice at J.D. Power and Associates was able to explain why it is possible for Freightliner to pass this study with flying colors while other trucking companies are proving lack-luster.  Europe has had emission standards since 2008 that prepared manufacturers that built trucks for that market for the 2010 U.S. standards.  Because of this Freightliner scored above-average satisfaction for engine reliability, dependability, fewer engine and fuel related problems– a stark contrast to the average U.S. owned companies whose problems reported jumped 22% this year.  Freightliner is leading the way and making an example for the industry as a leader not only in innovation and new technology, but in customer satisfaction as well!
