Options Available from Freightliner Make For A Truly Custom Truck

All vocational trucks must have some things in common. They have to be built tough, to withstand difficult working environments and long days. They have to be as low-maintenance as possible, to assure you’re making a cost-effective long-term investment. Freightliner has always lead the pack when it comes to building top-of-the-line trucks that work as hard as you need them to.

But what you need in a truck isn’t necessarily the same as what someone else needs, which is why Freightliner continues to develop new options that help you spec a truly customizable truck. Recently, the OEM introduced six new options for severe duty (SD) and medium duty (M2) models.

Three new safety options.

  • You can now add hood-mounted mirrors to your 108SD and 114SD, which is especially helpful in plowing applications. The mirrors have a tripod-style base and can be heated or not.
  • For 108SD and 114SD models working in particularly harsh environments like plowing, dumping and mixing, you can get new rock guards that protect the exposed parts of the radiator between the bumper and grille.
  • You can also get a Hendrickson AeroClad 12” “logger style” bumper for the 122SD. It’s made of lightweight chrome and has cutouts for driving lights, fog lights and a center tow.

One more way to save fuel.

You can reduce fuel consumption and boost performance with the optional remote start/stop feature for a M2 106, M2 112, 108SD or 114SD with manual transmission.

One more way to increase productivity.

All Freightliner severe duty trucks with single tires are now available with Watson & Chalin lift-axle suspensions that provide great maneuverability and easy-to-change ride height.

These are just the latest additional to Freightliner’s famous menu of options. There is a customizable truck model for every application and every preference in terms of vehicle performance and operator convenience.
