Schwarze Asphalt Patchers: Designed to Repair Roads Quickly

Road and asphalt repair is a never-ending battle. And it’s expensive. Cities and counties across the country spend upwards of $11 billion each year on paving and repairs. Happily, Schwarze® asphalt pavers are budget-friendly, allowing you to produce highest-quality repairs, in less time.

Whether you’re responsible for public works projects or maintaining private facilities with heavily-used driveways and parking lots, the Schwarze® RoadpatcherTM is the most versatile, efficient pothole repair system you’ll find. Your crew can finish each project faster – an increase in productivity that’s simply a more cost-effective use of equipment and labor.

And while these machines provide consistently outstanding performance, they require minimal maintenance. It all adds up to lower total cost of operation.

Schwarze® asphalt patchers are a positive PR tool.

Wouldn’t it be nice to spend less time fielding complaints from cranky constituents? They’re unhappy for good reason. Driving over potholes costs drivers an average of $380 per year in damage to tires, brakes, wheel alignment and suspension. And potholes can cause accidents, especially for motorcycles.

Traffic delays can be an equally big public relations headache, whether they’re caused by pothole repair, patching utility cuts or roadway shoulder work. You need to make those repairs as quickly as possible, so you can minimize traffic disruption. With the Schwarze® system, your patch is road-ready the minute it’s completed. No further delay waiting for it to cure.

How does that work?

Schwarze® asphalt pavers follow a four-step process:

  1. A high-velocity blower removes dust and debris from the pothole, preparing it for refilling. The operator can tilt the nozzle, so it’s easy to remove loose rock efficiently with less bounce.
  2. An asphalt emulsion is sprayed on the surface, to seal it and lay down a binder for the repair.
  1. The machine mixes asphalt emulsion and aggregate and fills the hole, then compacts the asphalt to produce a high-density repair that will have the greatest durability. Schwarze® asphalt patchers produce a more consistent aggregate flow than other systems.

And they produce a compaction rate of at least 95%, according to independent tests conducted by the Strategic Highway Initiative. The tests were performed without using separate compactors, which means you can get by without using one, too.

  1. Each project is finished with a topping of aggregate over the new surface. That’s what enables traffic to proceed immediately over the patch. There are two conveyor speeds, so the operator can choose one for dry coating and the other for skin patches.

Large emulsion tanks and efficient aggregate coverage further increase productivity, enabling you to spend more time actually patching and less time on re-load trips back to the yard. And Schwarze® asphalt pavers work year round. No matter if the weather is hot or cold, you can do your best to stay on top of repairs all year long, because these patchers have insulated and heated emulsion tanks.

Work gets done with less equipment and fewer people, in less time.

Schwarze® asphalt patchers are safety-conscious.

This road maintenance system requires only one operator, who works from inside the cab, greatly reducing potential for personal injury from either vehicle traffic or flying debris. Lighted directional boards and hydraulic boom leveling keep the public informed and safe, too.

Faster repairs mean increased safety for everyone, happier drivers, lower future repair and maintenance costs and extended roadway life. No wonder Schwarze® is the company you turn to when you need reliable, efficient and cost-effective road patching and asphalt repair equipment.
