Landcros Haul Trucks: A New Name, Proven Bell Performance
Big changes are coming to Hitachi Construction Machinery in 2027, and the company’s latest announcement is giving contractors another reason to get familiar with the name LANDCROS.
As Hitachi Construction Machinery prepares to officially transition to LANDCROS in April 2027, the manufacturer has announced a new partnership with Bell Equipment to introduce a lineup of LANDCROS-branded articulated dump trucks to North America.
For customers already familiar with Bell Trucks, this is exciting news.
The new Landcros Haul Trucks will combine Bell’s established articulated dump truck engineering with Hitachi’s expanding equipment lineup and dealer network.
At Tracey Road Equipment, we’re especially excited about this announcement because we already represent both Hitachi Construction Machinery and Bell Trucks America. Our customers know what Bell articulated dump trucks can do, and this partnership represents another important step in the evolution of the LANDCROS brand.
Let’s take a closer look at the announcement, the upcoming models and what this partnership means for contractors.
Two Trusted Names, One Powerful Future: Landcros and Bell Trucks
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas, which will be rebranded as LANDCROS Americas in April 2027, today announced plans to expand its NorthAmerican equipment lineup with three articulated dump trucks (ADTs) through a collaboration with Bell Equipment. Plans to launch models ZD30, ZD45 and ZD50 (30 to 50 tons) are scheduled to launch in the early summer of 2027.
Hitachi Becomes LANDCROS in 2027
Before diving into the new haul trucks, it’s important to understand the name change behind this announcement.
Beginning April 1, 2027, Hitachi Construction Machinery will officially become LANDCROS Corporation, with LANDCROS serving as its new corporate brand.
While the name and equipment branding will change, the manufacturer has emphasized that its established engineering expertise, product quality and customer support will continue.
The transition also represents something bigger than a new logo.
LANDCROS is focused on expanding its equipment offerings, developing advanced technology and building strategic partnerships that deliver more solutions to customers.
The new articulated dump truck partnership with Bell Equipment is an example of that strategy in action.
By working with an established haul truck manufacturer, LANDCROS can introduce new equipment categories to North American customers while building on proven engineering and industry experience.
Introducing the New Landcros Haul Trucks
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas and Bell Equipment have announced an agreement to bring a new lineup of articulated dump trucks to the United States and Canada.
Under the agreement, Bell will manufacture the trucks, which will be branded and distributed as LANDCROS equipment through the Hitachi/LANDCROS dealer network.
The first LANDCROS-branded trucks are scheduled to be supplied beginning in April 2027, with the initial models expected to launch in early summer.
Three New Landcros Haul Truck Models
These models are designed to serve contractors working in earthmoving, quarrying, construction and other demanding material-hauling applications.
The companies have also outlined plans to expand the lineup with additional models covering approximately 20- to 60-ton hauling classes.
This expansion will give LANDCROS a broader presence in the articulated dump truck market and provide contractors with more equipment options for different production requirements.
The initial lineup will include three articulated dump trucks:
| Model | Hauling Class |
|---|---|
| LANDCROS ZD30 | 30-ton class |
| LANDCROS ZD45 | 45-ton class |
| LANDCROS ZD50 | 50-ton class |
Why Bell Equipment Is an Important Partner
For contractors familiar with articulated dump trucks, Bell Equipment is already a recognized name.
Bell specializes in the design and manufacturing of articulated dump trucks engineered for demanding off-road conditions.
These machines are commonly used to move large quantities of earth, rock, aggregate and other materials across jobsites where conventional highway trucks are not practical.
Bell’s E-Series articulated dump trucks are known for combining hauling capacity with traction, operator-focused technology and features designed to support efficient operation.
By partnering with Bell, LANDCROS is building its new haul truck lineup around an established manufacturing platform rather than entering the market without prior articulated truck experience.
For customers, this means the new LANDCROS trucks will benefit from Bell’s experience in off-road hauling.
Importantly, the agreement does not mean Bell-branded trucks are going away. Bell Trucks America will continue distributing Bell-branded articulated dump trucks through its existing network.
What Features Will Landcros Haul Trucks Offer?
The new Landcros Haul Trucks are expected to incorporate several technologies designed to improve hauling performance, operator awareness and equipment management.
Powerful Engines and Drivetrains
Articulated dump trucks need the power to move heavy loads across challenging terrain.
The new LANDCROS models are being developed around Bell’s established drivetrain engineering, with an emphasis on engine output, torque and efficient power delivery.
This performance is especially important on jobsites with steep grades, changing ground conditions and demanding hauling cycles.
On-Board Weighing
Efficient hauling starts with knowing how much material is being transported.
The new trucks will feature an On-Board Weighing system that provides operators with real-time load information.
This technology helps operators monitor payloads and supports more consistent loading practices.
Accurate payload management can help contractors improve production planning while reducing the risk of overloading equipment.
Bin Tip Prevention
Dumping material on uneven ground can present significant safety challenges.
The planned Bin Tip Prevention system is designed to monitor conditions during dumping.
If the system identifies an unsafe tipping condition, it can warn the operator and automatically stop the dump body from continuing to rise.
This technology provides an additional layer of protection during unloading operations.
Geofencing and Fleet Management
The new Landcros Haul Trucks will also incorporate geofencing capabilities.
Fleet managers will be able to establish designated operating zones and apply restrictions based on jobsite requirements.
Potential applications include setting speed limits in certain areas, identifying restricted zones and establishing areas where dumping is prohibited.
Geofencing can also support equipment security and fleet oversight.
Operator-Focused Cab Technology
Inside the cab, operators can expect a 10-inch color display providing access to machine information, operating conditions, warnings and troubleshooting details.
This centralized display is designed to make important equipment information easier to monitor throughout the workday.
Convenient Maintenance Access
Keeping articulated dump trucks running is essential for maintaining production.
The new LANDCROS models will feature centralized, ground-level grease maintenance points designed to simplify routine service.
Easier access to maintenance locations can help reduce service time and encourage consistent preventive maintenance practices.
Together, these features demonstrate how the new lineup is being designed around productivity, operator awareness and equipment uptime.
Familiar Bell Trucks: B30E, B45E and B50E
For Tracey Road customers, the Bell partnership offers a familiar reference point. Bell Trucks America currently offers several articulated dump trucks across different hauling classes.
Three established models help illustrate the manufacturer’s experience in the categories LANDCROS plans to enter.
Bell B30E: Versatility for Everyday Hauling
The Bell B30E is designed for contractors who need a capable articulated dump truck for construction, earthmoving and material-hauling operations.
Powered by a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine producing 329 gross horsepower, the B30E combines hauling performance with features designed to support traction and operator comfort.
Its automated traction control, onboard diagnostics and available fleet management information help make it a practical option for demanding jobsites.
Bell B45E: Built for Heavy Production
The Bell B45E moves into a larger hauling category with a rated payload of approximately 41 metric tons.
Its 523-gross-horsepower Mercedes-Benz engine and Allison transmission are designed to support demanding earthmoving applications.
The B45E is particularly well suited for contractors managing substantial quantities of material on large construction and development projects.
Bell B50E: High-Capacity Hauling
For operations requiring even greater hauling capacity, the Bell B50E delivers approximately 50-ton-class performance.
Its 577-gross-horsepower engine, heavy-duty drivetrain and operator-focused features make it an option for large-scale earthmoving and quarry applications.
The B50E also includes technologies such as onboard weighing and Bell’s Fleetm@tic fleet management system.
These existing Bell models demonstrate the manufacturer’s capabilities across several hauling categories.
It’s important to note that the B30E, B45E and B50E are current Bell-branded models, not confirmed specification matches for the upcoming LANDCROS ZD30, ZD45 and ZD50. Final LANDCROS specifications and configurations should be reviewed when officially released.
