About the Role:
Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is seeking to hire full-time Parts Manager for our Binghamton Branch. The Parts Manager is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. This position will accomplish objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, and security.
A successful candidate will:
- Manage and train new employees within the parts department, ensuring they understand departmental procedures and responsibilities.
- Oversee the purchasing of parts for stock and customer orders.
- Conduct research on inventory issues and review stock requests from customers and other departments to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Handle technical parts issues both internally and with manufacturers to ensure quick and efficient resolution.
- Process customer returns, determine restocking fees, and coordinate freight as necessary.
- Manage and resolve issues related to receiving and pricing discrepancies in coordination with accounting.
- Ensure parts employees follow established procedures, including reading A/R notes, prepayment, COD collection, and direct shipping processes.
- Oversee shipping and receiving personnel, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Review daily reports, such as Lost Sales, Negative Parts Sales, and NOLOC parts, and follow up on any issues.
- Conduct weekly report research on Dirty Core Inventory, Aging Transfer Reports, Deleted Front Counter, No Cost Parts, and Parts Returned, and follow up on the findings.
- Manage department expenses by consistently monitoring and reviewing them, including managing overtime.
- Ensure a positive departmental culture, focused on customer service and employee engagement.
- Lead the team with dedication and drive, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train employees effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling inventory, purchasing, and technical issues.
- Strong organizational and financial management skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive departmental culture.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience in parts management, preferably within the truck or heavy equipment industry.
- Proven experience in managing a diverse team of direct reports.
