Salary: $21-$24 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time Service Writer for the Syracuse Branch. The Service Writer serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, responsible for creating repair orders, communicating repair needs and timelines, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a positive and efficient customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers professionally, open and manage repair orders, and handle inquiries or concerns promptly while upholding dealership standards for safety and cleanliness.
- Communicate repair status, estimated completion times, and any changes to customers, coordinating with technicians to clarify requests and prioritize work.
- Prepare and review repair estimates, obtain customer authorization, and ensure documentation meets manufacturer and company requirements, including accurate warranty paperwork.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy prior to invoicing, collaborate with the Parts Department for timely parts availability, and maintain organized service records.
- Promote service department specials, preventive maintenance, and additional repair recommendations as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous equipment or heavy truck dealership experience preferred, with 1 year of Service Advising experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
