Position: Lube & Preventative Maintenance Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: $20 – $24 per hour

The Heavy Equipment Lubrication Technician is responsible for performing lubrication, fluid checks, and preventative maintenance services on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, compactors, and haul trucks. This role ensures that equipment remains in optimal working condition and identifies potential maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
This position requires technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The Heavy Equipment Lubrication Technician will work both in the shop and on-site as needed to support equipment maintenance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform lubrication services, oil changes, and fluid level checks on heavy equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Replace filters, grease components, and inspect equipment for signs of wear or damage.
- Identify maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings to the Service Clerk.
- Accurately document all services performed, including parts and materials used, in service records or maintenance software.
- Safely operate heavy equipment to position and perform maintenance tasks as needed.
- Follow environmental regulations for the disposal of used oil, filters, and other waste materials.
- Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned by the Service Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized work trailer, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working order.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely for maintenance purposes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow maintenance procedures accurately.
- Good communication and organizational skills for record-keeping and team coordination.
- Capable of operating boom truck or equivalent.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
- Previous experience with lubrication, maintenance, or repair of heavy equipment required.
- Knowledge of lubrication systems, fluid types, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is preferred but not required.
