HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America introduced its HX210L long-track excavator, which incorporates many of the features first shown on the five next-generation HX excavator models that debuted earlier this year at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. At the heart of the Hyundai HX210L is Hyundai’s new DX05 diesel engine, rated at 186 net horsepower. According to Hyundai, the new engine provides 6% more torque while improving fuel efficiency by 7% and reducing DEF consumption by 30%.
Those improvements are especially meaningful for contractors putting hundreds or thousands of hours on their excavators each year. More torque can help when digging and loading under demanding conditions, while reductions in fuel and DEF consumption can help control operating costs over the life of the machine.

Built on the HX230L Platform

Hyundai has significantly extended several important maintenance intervals on the HX210L. When using CK-4 engine oil, the replacement interval for engine oil, engine oil filters, and fuel filters increases from 500 to 1,000 hours.
Coolant replacement intervals have also increased substantially, moving from 2,000 to 6,000 hours.

Another available technology is Hyundai’s Smart Around View Monitoring (SAVM). The system uses six cameras and AI-based detection to identify people passing or working around the excavator during operation, providing another tool to help operators maintain jobsite awareness.
